Greenlit: Back in Time for the Weekend, BBC2

Back in Time for the Weekend (6 x 60′) – The series will follow a family as they embark on a time-travelling adventure to discover how the way we spend our spare time has undergone a revolution over the last 65 years, transforming our homes, our hobbies and our family dynamics along the way.

The show will start in 1950, when widespread shortages meant that ordinary families spent much of their leisure time repairing or making things from scratch. Our adventurous family will live through six decades of change, concluding in the present, where we’re more likely to buy a new toaster than try to fix a broken one, and browsing Facebook, shopping and the odd trip to a spa have taken over as favoured ways to spend our weekends.
