Weather Terror aka Extreme Weather: The Survivors  (6 x ) –   The last decade on Earth has seen the most powerful typhoon ever, the biggest Atlantic hurricane, the worst Himalayan blizzard disaster and these extreme weather conditions have been caught on camera. In this series, we’ll see incredible first hand testimonies from travellers who have experienced weather at its most ferocious while on trips worldwide, with their incredible personal footage combined with storm science to show how against all odds, they survived.

Every year, more than 38 million of us go abroad to escape from the miserable British weather. Unfortunately, a hapless few find themselves a million miles away from the kind of climate that they were seeking. Instead, they become caught up in extreme and life-threatening weather events. This series tells their stories including the tale of Two Brits in the Philippines who find themselves caught up in a disaster movie during the most devastating typhoon on record. Despite the danger, however, they went to the rescue of elderly hotel residents trapped in their ground floor rooms by a steadily rising storm surge. We also see the Brimble family’s camping trip in the south of France turned from an idyllic holiday into a mad scramble for survival when torrential floods took them unawares and swept away their camp.
