Greenlit: The Wine Show, ITV
The Wine Show (13 x 60′) – Actors Matthew Goode and Matthew Rhys take viewers on a fresh, informative and entertaining journey into wine. As enthusiastic novices they look at the kinds of wine we all enjoy every day with our dinner, as well as some of the world’s most famous labels.
Joining Matthew and Matthew on their journey are the show’s passionate expert wine contributors, Joe Fattorini and Amelia Singer, who skillfully guide the two Matthews along the way. The Wine Show travels to twelve different countries on six continents to bring us back great stories and great wine. Gizzi Erskine also joins in as our food expert in the US.
From their villa in the Italian countryside, Goode and Rhys are set a new challenge every week that sees them explore different parts of Italy, uncovering some of the best wines the country has to offer, as well as the stories that surround them.
This visually spectacular series also hosts twelve of the world’s leading chefs, tasked with cooking the perfect meal to accompany their favourite wine. As they prepare and cook, viewers learn about these Masters of Cuisine, why they love their chosen bottle, and the tastes that drive their dish. Chefs include Atul Kochhar, Michael Caines, Jose Pizarro, Peter Gordon, Francesco Mazzei, Brad McDonald, Clare Smyth, Dan Doherty, Elena Arzak, Niki Nakayama, Frances Atkins and Stephen Harris.
