Greenlit: Top Class, CBBC

Top Class (15 x 30′) – Comedian Susan Calman searches for Britain’s smartest school in a fast-paced, competitive knock-out series which pits schools from the length and breadth of the U.K against each other as they answer questions designed to test them to their limits.

The series features 16 schools who, show by show, will be whittled down until just one remains to be crowned the smartest school in Britain.

In each programme two teams of students compete against each other in a series of challenging and fun rounds which cover a wide range of subjects. Kids have an opportunity to impress during their pet subject round, whilst teachers are in the hot-seat during a pop culture round.

At the end of each show one school is eliminated from the competition whilst the other progress to the next round.

Each round includes questions taken from the National Curriculum Key Stage 2 as well as other rounds including a ‘News’ round with questions on topics from the wider world; a ‘pet subject’ round selected by the team and in one special round, the team nominate one of their teachers to play for them, the teacher must answer questions against the clock on popular culture.
