Greenlit: The Warfighters, History

The Warfighters (4 x 60′) – Hosted by executive producer Peter Berg (Lone Survivor) and veteran Special Forces Green Beret Bert Kuntz (“The Selection: Special Operations Experiment”), and driven by first-person accounts, the unnarrated series chronicles recent U.S. Special Operations Forces missions in the global war on terror as it gives viewers an inside and candid look at the realities of war. The series is largely made in part by veterans with over 90 veterans participating in the production.

The United States Special Operations Forces are arguably the most highly trained warriors in the world and since 2001 they have been fighting the global war on terror – the longest ongoing conflict in American history.  Army Rangers, Green Berets, Marines, and Navy SEALs are among the brave that operate at the tip of the spear combating terrorism.  This special four hour event is a bona fide, powerful portrayal of the high-stakes environment that these service members must operate in and the challenges they face from doing so.  Each episode includes intimate interviews, action-packed cinematic sequences and real images and footage from the actual operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The series represents the human experience of war; true stories of heroism, bravery, brotherhood, sacrifice, and, above all, honor.
